Corporate Parenting Panel official page

All Elected Members are responsible for the care of children in care i.e. "corporate parenting". The Corporate Parenting Panel meets on a regular basis to consider matters which affect looked after children. This includes satisfying themselves that arrangements for the investigation of concerns about safety and welfare of children in the care of the Local Authority are satisfactory. Members of the Panel also undertake regular visits to the various establishments and take the opportunity to speak to staff and residents.
