The Panel received a report on the current financial position of transport costs which had been determined by the Panel at the previous meeting.

It was moved by Russell Bartlett, seconded by Jeremy Rowe and

RESOLVED that the report be noted.

The Panel received a report that summarised the decisions made under delegated authority since the Panel had last met.

The Committee is asked to consider a resolution that the press and public be excluded from the meeting for the business specified in the following item(s) on the grounds that there is likely to be a disclosure to the public of exempt information of the following descriptions:-

There has been compliance with the public interest test provisions in the Access to Information Act, as amended, in producing this report.

RESOLVED that in accordance with the Local Government (Access to Information) (Variation) Order 2006, the press and public be excluded from the meeting during the consideration of the following items of business on the grounds that they would be likely to involve the disclosure of exempt information of the following description:-

Members considered a request for free or assisted transport to be provided for a pupil to attend from their address in Hayle.

It was moved by Mike Varney, seconded by Jeremy Rowe and

RESOLVED that the request for free or assisted transport to be provided for a pupil to attend St Ives School from their address in Hayle be allowed.  A contribution of £266 per year was agreed with the parent to claim the costs back from the Council after purchasing bus tickets.

The Panel thanked the parent for attending the meeting to present the appeal.  Members considered a request for free or assisted transport to be provided for pupils to attend Helston Community College from their address in Hayle.

RESOLVED that the request for free or assisted transport to be provided for pupils to attend Helston Community College from their address in Hayle be allowed.

Members considered a request for free or assisted transport to be provided for pupils to attend Trevithick School from their address in Camborne.

It was moved by Jeremy Rowe, seconded by Russell Bartlett and

RESOLVED that the request for free or assisted transport to be provided for pupils to attend Trevithick School from their address in Camborne be allowed, until the end of the academic year.  Transport would be provided by way of a taxi.

RESOLVED that the request for free or assisted transport to be provided for a pupil to attend Penair School from their address in Camborne be refused.

The Panel thanked the parent for attending the meeting to present the appeal.  Members considered a request for free transport to be provided for pupils to attend Threemilestone School & Bosvigo School from their address in Truro.

RESOLVED that the request for free transport to be provided for pupils to attend Threemilestone School & Bosvigo School from their address in Truro be refused.

Members considered a request for free transport to be provided for a pupil to attend Archbishop Benson C of E School from their address in Truro.

RESOLVED that the request for free transport to be provided for a pupil to attend Archbishop Benson C of E School from their address in Truro be allowed until the end of the academic year.  Transport would be provided by way of a taxi.

Members considered a request for continuation of free transport to be provided for a pupil to attend Newquay Tretherras School from their address in Bodmin.

It was moved by Pat Rogerson, seconded by Jan Powell and

RESOLVED that the request for continuation of free transport to be provided for a pupil to attend Newquay Tretherras School from their address in Bodmin be allowed.  Transport would be provided by way of a bus pass.

Members considered a request for free transport to be provided for a pupil to attend Treviglas Community college from their address in Wadebridge.

It was moved by Jan Powell, seconded by Mike Varney and

RESOLVED that the request for free transport to be provided for a pupil to attend Treviglas Community college from their address in Wadebridge be allowed.  A contribution of £2 per day was agreed with the parent to claim the costs back from the Council after purchasing bus tickets.

Members considered a request for free transport to be provided for a pupil to attend Treviglas Community college from their address in St Columb.

It was moved by Jeremy Rowe, seconded by Russell Bartlett and

RESOLVED that the request for free or assisted transport to be provided for a pupil to attend Treviglas Community college from their address in St Columb be refused.

Members were advised that the parent had withdrawn this appeal.

Members considered a request for free transport to be provided for a pupil to attend St Marys RC School from their address in St Austell.

It was moved by Mike Varney, seconded by Russell Bartlett and

RESOLVED that the request for free transport to be provided for a pupil to attend St Marys RC School from their address in St Austell be allowed until the end of the academic year.  A petrol allowance of £3.50 per day was agreed.

Members considered a request for free transport to be provided for a pupil to attend from their address in West Looe.

RESOLVED that the request for free transport to be provided for a pupil to attend Looe Primary School from their address in West Looe be refused.

Members considered a request for free or assisted transport to be provided for pupils to attend Wadebridge School from their address in Bodmin.

RESOLVED that the request for free or assisted transport to be provided for pupils to attend Wadebridge School from their address in Bodmin be refused.

Members considered a request for free transport to be provided for pupils to attend Saltash.net community school from their address in Deviock, nr Torpoint.

RESOLVED that the request for free transport to be provided for pupils to attend Saltash.net community school from their address in Deviock, nr Torpoint be refused.

Members considered a request for free transport to be provided for a pupil to attend Saltash.net Community School from their address in Polbathic, Torpoint.

RESOLVED that the request for free transport to be provided for a pupil to attend Saltash.net Community School from their address in Polbathic, Torpoint be refused.

Members considered a request for free transport to be provided for a pupil to attend Saltash.net Community School from their address in Tideford, Saltash.

RESOLVED that the request free transport to be provided for a pupil to attend Saltash.net Community School from their address in Tideford, Saltash be refused.

The Panel thanked the parent for attending the meeting to present the appeal.  Members considered a request for free transport to be provided for a pupil to attend Saltash.net Community School from their address in Millbrook, Torpoint.

RESOLVED that the request for free transport to be provided for a pupil to attend Saltash.net Community School from their address in Millbrook, Torpoint be refused.

The Panel thanked the parent for attending the meeting to present the appeal.  Members considered a route assessment and request for free transport to be provided for a pupil to attend Torpoint Community College from their address in Antony.

RESOLVED that the request for free transport to be provided for a pupil to attend Torpoint Community College from their address in Antony be allowed.  Transport would be provided by way of a bus pass.  Members agreed however, that the route assessment had been carried out correctly.

The Panel thanked the parent for attending the meeting to present the appeal.  Members considered a request for free transport to be provided for a pupil to attend Budehaven Community School from their address in Launceston.

It was moved by Mike Varney, seconded by Pat Rogerson and

RESOLVED that the request for free transport to be provided for a pupil to attend Budehaven Community School from their address in Launceston be refused.

The Panel thanked the parent for attending the meeting to present the appeal.  Members considered a request for free transport to be provided for a pupil to attend Holsworthy College from their address in Launceston.

It was moved by Mike Varney, seconded by Jeremy Rowe and

RESOLVED that the request for free transport to be provided for a pupil to attend Holsworthy College from their address in Launceston be allowed.  It was agreed that a concessionary rider seat on a bus would be purchased by the parent from Devon Council who would then be reimbursed for this cost by Cornwall Council.

The Panel thanked the parent for attending the meeting to present the appeal.  Members considered a request for assisted transport to be provided for a pupil to attend St Boniface R C College from their address in Liskeard.

It was moved by Mike Varney, seconded by Russell Bartlett and

RESOLVED that the request for assisted transport to be provided for a pupil to attend St Boniface R C College from their address in Liskeard be allowed.  A contribution of £250 per year was agreed with the parent to claim the costs back from the Council after purchasing bus tickets.
