The Chairman reported that no public questions had been submitted.

Exclusion of the Public

To consider the following motion:-

“that in accordance with Section 100A(4) of the Local Government Act, 1972, the public be excluded from the meeting for the following items of business on the grounds that they involve the likely disclosure of exempt information (as defined in Part 1 of Schedule 12A to the Act) relating to particular applicants for financial assistance provided by the Council.”

RESOLVED that in accordance with Section 100A(4) of the Local Government Act 1972, the public be excluded from the meeting for the following items of business on the grounds that they involve the likely disclosure of exempt information (as defined in Part 1 of Schedule 12A of the Act) relating to the financial and business affairs of any particular person (including the authority holding that information).

 

 

 

6.

APPLICATIONS FOR DISCRETIONARY RATE RELIEF FROM CHARITIES AND NON-PROFITMAKING ORGANISATIONS FOR 2009/10 ONWARDS

To consider a report by the Head of Finance and Asset Management (Reference 09/414) attached.

 

 

Minutes:

The Sub-Committee considered a report by the Head of Finance and Asset Management (Reference 09/418) which provided details of one new application and sixteen renewal applications for discretionary rate relief from charitable and non-profit-making organisations for 2009/10 listed in Appendix B to the report.

RESOLVED that:-

(i)         the report be received;

(ii)        the new application detailed at paragraph 3.1 of the report be approved; and

(iii)       the 16 renewal applications, detailed on Appendix B to the report be approved.

 

Reason(s) for decisions: the decisions are in accordance with the established Council Policy relating to these applications.
