There were no apologies of absence received.

Members of the Cabinet Committee are reminded of their personal responsibility to declare any personal and prejudicial interest in respect of matters contained in this agenda in accordance with the provisions of the Local Government Act 2000, the Council’s Constitution and the Members Code of Conduct.

A declaration of a personal and prejudicial interest was received from Councillor W R Smith in respect of item 7 – Transition Into Employment – as he is a 3G’s board member.

To consider a report from the Deputy Chief Executive and Director of Customer Corporate Services

RESOLVED that

Merthyr Tydfil County Borough Council enters into a Memorandum of Understanding and Service Level Agreement with Sustrans, the organisation through which the funding will be channelled.

Further reports be presented as necessary to deal with award of construction contracts etc.

Cabinet accepts the Project Management Framework and Implementation timetable as outlined within the report.

Councillor W R Smith left the meeting.

RESOLVED that

Cabinet approves the submission of the ‘Transition into Employment’ application into the Outcomes Fund in partnership with Communities First (3G’s).

It was noted that in paragraph 2.5 of the report that Treharris was now included within the scheme.

Cabinet approves the submission of the proposed job profile detailed in Appendix 2 of the report as a request to extend the Future Jobs Fund programme.

RESOLVED that

Cabinet accepts the reduced offer for the former Abercanaid Primary School and authorise the Head of Estates to instruct the Authority’s external legal advisor to complete the transfer of the above terms together with such other provisions as considered necessary by the Deputy Chief Executive and Director of Customer Corporate Services.
