\n\nRESOLVED \u2013 That under Section 100A(4) of the Local Government\nAct 1972, the public be excluded from the meeting for the following\nitem of business on the grounds that it involved the disclosure of\nexempt information as defined in paragraph 1 of part 1 of Schedule\n12A to the Act.

\n\n\nTo\nconsider the report of the Executive Director of Children and\nFamily Services.
\nMinutes:
\nThe\nCommittee considered the report of the Executive Director of\nChildren and Family Services in respect of appeals against the\nnon-award of Assistance with Travel/School Uniform Grants.
\n\u00a0
\nIn\nrespect of case JL, the appellant addressed the Committee in\nsupport of her appeal and, along with the officers from the\nChildren and Family Services Directorate, withdrew from the meeting\nduring the deliberations by the Committee.
\n\u00a0
\nIn\nrespect of cases DC and KD, the officers from the Children and\nFamily Services Directorate withdrew from the meeting during the\ndeliberations by the Committee.

\nRESOLVED \u2013
\n\u00a0
\n\n(i)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\nThat in respect of case JL, the appeal be upheld and the request\nfor assistance with travel be approved;
\n\u00a0
\n\n(ii)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\nthat in respect of case KD, the appeal be upheld and assistance\nwith travel be provided for a period of 12 months to enable the\npupil\u2019s attendance and progress in school to be\nmonitored;
\n\u00a0
\n\n(iii)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 that\nin respect of case BJ, consideration of the appeal be deferred to\nthe next meeting of the Committee to give the appellant a further\nopportunity to attend and make representations;
