\nTo consider passing a resolution in the\nfollowing terms:-

\n“That, under Section 100A(4) of the Local Government Act\n1972, members of the public and the press be excluded from the\nmeeting while item 4 is being considered, because it is likely that\nexempt information as described in paragraphs 1 and 2 of Part I of\nSchedule 12A to the Act would be disclosed to them if they were\npresent; and it is considered that in all the circumstances of the\ncase, the public interest in maintaining exemption outweighs the\npublic interest in disclosing the information.”

\nOn item 4\n(Paper No. 09-625), the Sub-Committee had before them a list of\nfive candidates for the post of Head of IT and Business\nCommunications, a copy of the information pack supplied to each\ncandidate including the job description and job profile for the\npost, selection criteria and information about the main terms and\nconditions of employment, and their application forms and\nreferences (copies of which are interleaved with these\nminutes).
\n\n
At 7.15 pm\nthe Sub-Committee proceeded to interview the five candidates for\nthe post as follows:

Each candidate in turn appeared before the\nSub-Committee, answered questions from Members and\nwithdrew. Having\ninterviewed the five candidates, after discussion, it was\n-

\nRESOLVED – That Paper No. 09-625 be received as information\nand that, subject to their being no material or well-founded\nobjections in consequence of consulting with all Members of the\nExecutive under the requirements of the Local Authorities (Standing\nOrders) (England) Regulations 2001, as described in Paper No.\n02-625, there being minimal difference between [two of the\ncandidates] an offer of appointment to the post of Head of IT and\nBusiness Communications be made to [the candidate whose interview\nbegan at 9.35 pm], subject to the usual conditions, with effect\nfrom a date to be determined, on the basis that if he wishes not to\naccept, an offer of appointment be made to [the candidate whose\ninterview began at 9.00 pm] on appropriate terms.
