Minutes:
The Committee was requested to recommend to City Council the appointment of a candidate, as an independent member of the Standards Committee, for a period of four years following a recent recruitment exercise.Â
It was reported that the Relevant Authorities (Standards Committees) Regulations legislate on how independent (non-council) members are appointed and the main points of the Regulations were:
A person may not be appointed as an independent member of
the Standards Committee of an authority or sub-committee of the
Standards Committee unless the appointment is:
