the appeals against the non-award of assistance with travel as set
out in the report of the Executive Director of Children and Family
Services<span class="GramE">.</span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal">The
Committee considered the report of the Executive Director of
Children and Family Services in respect of appeals against the
non-award of Assistance with Travel.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal"> </p>
<p class="MsoNormal">In
respect of cases LNH and RH the appellants addressed the Committee
in support of their appeals and, along with the officers from the
Children and Family Services Directorate, withdrew from the meeting
during the deliberations by the Committee.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal"> </p>
<p class="MsoNormal">In
respect of case AJS, the officers from the Children and Family
Services Directorate withdrew from the meeting during the
deliberations by the Committee.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal"> </p>
<p class="MsoNormal">RESOLVED –</p>

<p class="MsoNormal">
(<span class="SpellE">i</span>)<span> </span>
That in respect of the case LNH, the appeal <span class="GramE">be</span> upheld and the request for assistance with travel
be approved;</p>

(ii)<span> </span>
that in respect of the case RH, the appeal be dismissed and the
request for assistance with the cost of taxi travel be refused but,
in addition to financial support already provided in the case,
further financial assistance be granted to the appellant to meet
the fare of any school bus service provided by St Edmund
<span class="SpellE">Arrowsmith</span> School which would
contribute to the pupil’s journey from school to home;</p>

(iii)<span> </span>
<span class="GramE">that</span> in respect of case AJS, the appeal
be dismissed and the request for assistance with travel be refused;
and</p>

in respect of case BJ, consideration of the appeal be deferred to
the next meeting of the Committee to give the appellant a final
opportunity to attend and make representations;</p>
