Report of the Head of Democratic Services 

“Would the Lead Member for Performance and Customer Care explain why the decision to sell Feltham People’s Centre was made instead of investigating a continued community use?”

“Could the Lead Member for Performance and Customer Care make a statement to Borough Council concerning the appalling racist and abusive language and behaviour of a bailiff acting on behalf of the London Borough of Hounslow as seen in a recent TV programme, and also give an assurance that safeguards are in place to make sure that             this never happens again?”

 

“My constituents are very concerned about a leaflet they have received from BAA.  It says

 

‘a trial will be undertaken at Heathrow to explore if the runways and the airspace around the airport can be used in a more efficient and flexible way to help cut delays and reduce the number of late running flights’. 

 

I would like to know, what has happened to runway alternation? Does this mean that there will be more flights over Cranford and will residents experience more noise?

 

What has the Council been doing about this issue and what can residents do?”

 

“What internal & external market research was conducted before the letting fees for the Lampton Park Conference Centre were set by the present administration for 2010-2011?”

“On 24 October 2011 there was a report regarding the 'Disposal of Ex Feltham Peoples Centre', including a recommendation that the property is sold on the open market by way of Public Auction.  Will the Lead Member make a statement on what has happened since then?”

“At the previous Borough Council Meeting, the Lead Member was asked for how long she could guarantee a weekly collection of residual waste in the London Borough of Hounslow.  Since then, the Government has announced it will assist Councils to keep these in place.  What, if anything, is preventing the Lead Member from giving this guarantee now?”

“This Council notes that the Mayor for London plans to increase  fares by 7% for 2012, well over the rate of inflation.

 

This Council believes that the residents of this Borough have had enough of exorbitant fare increases, which will adversely impact on those on low incomes.

 

This Council calls on the Mayor for London to re-think his policy, as soaring fares are not necessary, as Hounslow residents, along with other Londoners, pay far more in fares than even the Mayor’s own budget projections say they will”

 

The next meeting of the Council is scheduled for 31^st January 2012 and will commence at 7.30 in the Council Chamber.
