\n\u2018Over the last several years Hackney\nCentral town centre has been transformed. It now has a great public\nrealm, wider clean streets and a fantastic cultural offer. There\nare very few empty stops. Can you tell me what the Council plans,\nworking with the Hackney Central Partnership, to improve our town\ncentre further, particularly what will the post riot funding do for\nHackney Central?\u2019

\n\u201cThis Council wishes to express to\nGovernment its concern with many aspects of the Health and Social\nCare Bill.

\nThe Council notes:
\n\u00a0
\nThe extensive\nopposition from professional bodies representing doctors, nurses\nand allied healthcare staff. Their support in delivering these or any\nfuture health reforms would be crucial and the absence of that\nsupport is the cause of great disquiet.
\n\u00a0
\nThe introduction of a top down structural\nre-organisation of the NHS, explicitly\nruled out by the Coalition Agreement, at a time when the NHS and\nlocal government need to focus on unprecedented financial\nchallenges.
\n\u00a0
\nThe\nintroduction of the free-market into the NHS, enforced by\ncompetition requirements that will undermine both the need for\ngreater clinical co-operation and finding common solutions across\nhealth and social care.
\n\u00a0
\nThat many of the changes proposed, such\nas clinical-led commissioning, could be achieved without the\ndisruption already underway.
\n\u00a0
\nFor these reasons Council is asking for the Government to\nthink again and work with patient groups, NHS staff and the public\nto develop a set of proposals that really address the health and\nsocial care challenges we face.\u201d
