Minutes:
Members were asked to consider the new scale of fees in respect of the various licences administered by the Committee.
RESOLVED – That the proposed new scale of discretionary fees and charges in respect of the licenses, registrations, certificates and permits administered by the Licensing Committee were approved.
Licensing Act 2003:Licences Granted Under Delegated Powers and Appeals Activity PDF 82 KB
Minutes:
A report was submitted summarising the licenses granted by the Assistant Director, Environment and Regeneration Services (Development and Public Protection) under delegated powers between 1 October 2008 and 28 February 2009. The report also summarised the appeals heard by the Bexley Magistrates between 1 October 2008 and 22 February 2009. Members commented that they found the information relating to the appeals particularly useful and requested that more detailed information of any future appeals be sent to those Councillors who made the initial decision to which the appeal related.
RESOLVED – That the report be noted.
The Chairman of the Committee, Councillor Mike Slaughter welcomed Councillor John Eastaugh to the Committee. Councillor Eastaugh had been appointed to the Committee at the last Council meeting held on 17 March 2009. Councillor Eastaugh had already observed a Licensing Sub-Committee and would participate in some further training.
Councillor McAndrew (Vice-Chairman) thanked officers for the quality of their reports for the licensing sub-committees particularly within the often tight timescales.
