Transportation and Engineering has advised that the scope of the
report looking at the management of flood risk within the district
is currently being formulated in conjunction with the Environment
Agency</span>.</p>

actions arising from the Westgate Towers scrutiny
review.<span> </span> They made
points including the following:</p>

if traffic was prevented from using the Westgate Towers and St
Peter’s Place, congestion would increase</p>

The scheme presented to the Joint Transportation Board for the St.
Dunstan’s bus gate was unworkable</p>

There had been a recommendation from the Star Chamber that the
existing opening hours of the Westgate Towers museum be reduced to
Saturdays, Heritage Open Days and when schools had made
arrangements to visit. This would lead to a budget saving of
£13000.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal">
v)<span> </span>
The proposal to reduce the opening hours would be during a time
when the Beaney was also closed.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal">
vi)<span> </span>
Currently 8000 people visited the Westgate Towers museum</p>
<p class="MsoNormal">
vii)<span> </span>
There was no toilet provision at the Westgate Towers museum so only
limited opening hours were possible.</p>

for the above review, which had been amended following the first
meeting of the Panel.<span> </span>
The Chairman advised that originally the scope had been larger but
the Entertainment Scrutiny review would now be considering some of
the issues.<span> </span> He hoped
that the review would be completed within eight months.</p>

<p class="MsoNormal">Ken Reedie suggested that the review should
consider web-based activities under the heading Going Out as to
obtain a lively street scene information about activities needed to
be shared.</p>

current scrutiny reviews.</p>

<p class="MsoNormal">A member felt that some of the recommendations
in the Beach Hut scrutiny review were contrary to each other.</p>

<p class="MsoNormal">It was noted that the next meeting of the
Entertainment Economy scrutiny review would be held at the Orange
Street Music Club</p>
<p class="MsoNormal"> </p>
<p class="MsoNormal">The Sub-Committee then discussed what they
thought the draft scope of the Appointments to Outside Bodies
scrutiny review should include.<span> </span> These ideas included how outside
bodies should be defined in groups, how appointments should be made
to them, how reports back from the body and the councillor should
be considered, the role of the councillor on the body, details of
the outside body and the commitment required to serve on it and the
allowances payable.</p>

<p class="MsoNormal">The Sub-Committee considered the draft scope
for the above review, which had been amended following the first
meeting of the Panel.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </span>
The Chairman advised that originally the scope had been larger but
the Entertainment Scrutiny review would now be considering some of
the issues.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </span> He hoped
that the review would be completed within eight months.</p>

<p class="MsoNormal">Ken Reedie suggested that the review should
consider web-based activities under the heading Going Out as to
obtain a lively street scene information about activities needed to
be shared.</p>

current scrutiny reviews.</p>

<p class="MsoNormal">A member felt that some of the recommendations
in the Beach Hut scrutiny review were contrary to each other.</p>

<p class="MsoNormal">It was noted that the next meeting of the
Entertainment Economy scrutiny review would be held at the Orange
Street Music Club</p>
<p class="MsoNormal"> </p>
<p class="MsoNormal">The Sub-Committee then discussed what they
thought the draft scope of the Appointments to Outside Bodies
scrutiny review should include.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </span> These ideas included how outside
bodies should be defined in groups, how appointments should be made
to them, how reports back from the body and the councillor should
be considered, the role of the councillor on the body, details of
the outside body and the commitment required to serve on it and the
allowances payable.</p>
