The need for\nimplementing local guidelines and targets on sustainable\ndevelopment and renewable energy initiatives was highlighted to the\nExecutive Board on 8 February 2007, as part of a progress report of\nNottingham Declaration Working Group.</p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">&nbsp;</p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">The Director reported that the publication of\nthe Guide had been delayed because local targets would need to be\nset out clearly in a development plan document to carry any weight\nor to be a material consideration when determining planning\napplications. In order to assist this process, a detailed Renewable\nEnergy Capacity Study would be required before local sustainability\nstandards were included in Wirral&rsquo;s Local Development\nFramework (LDF).
