- About This Team
- The Town of Keyworth is situated in South Nottinghamshire and is covered by the Rushcliffe South Neighbourhood Policing area. Other towns and villages such as East Leake and Cotgrave border Keyworth. The town itself is made up of private dwellings and local government properties that are owned and run by Rushcliffe borough council under the name Rushcliffe Homes. The population in Keyworth is approximately 8,000. The Manor Road estate and surrounding streets are mainly owned by Spirita. The dwellings in this area are terraced houses and flats with some bungalows, which are reserved for the elderly. The rest of Keyworth is mainly private dwellings which consist of semi-detached and detached houses. There is currently a building site on Debdale Lane where 17 new dwellings will be sited. There are also plans for the site on Selby Lane where Wrights Garage is currently situated. The population structure is very diverse in regards to age groups ranging from young to quite a high population of OAP groups. Keyworth is a predominantly white community with a very small concentration of black and minority groups. There are numerous business situated in the town mainly in The Square. These range from large chain stores, takeaway food outlets, banks, newsagents, charity shops to restaurants. There are also four public houses within the town. The Southwolds Comprehensive School is situated in Keyworth and is the main feeder school for the local primary schools both in Keyworth and the surrounding villages. The school itself has approx 800 pupils. There is also a large leisure centre and swimming pool which is connected to the school that has public accessibility. The public library is situated next to the school on Church Drive, Keyworth. It has approximately eight public computers open to all library members. The Keyworth Parish Council building is situated on Elm Avenue and is open from 0800-1300 hours, Monday through until Friday (excluding Tuesday). The Tollerton Beat is situated in South Nottinghamshire and is covered by the Rushcliffe South Local Area Command. Larger towns close by are Keyworth and Cotgrave. The village is predominantly made up of private dwellings. It has a couple of shops and a public house in the centre of the village and then on the perimeter is Tollerton (Nottingham) Airport, which is serviced by local and individual pilots rather than commercial flights. The population in Tollerton is approximately 1875. Tollerton is made up of in the main large private detached houses and bungalows. There is a small primary school and is serviced by Keyworth and West Bridgford for larger shops and banks etc. There are currently no affordable houses in Tollerton although there are plans to build a new community centre and seven affordable homes on the grounds of Tollerton Hall, Tollerton Lane. The population structure is very diverse in regards to age groups ranging from young to quite a high population of OAP groups. The Nevile Ward is part of the Borough of Rushcliffe which covers South Nottinghamshire. The Nevile beat consists of the following villages; Owthorpe, Upper Broughton, Hickling and Kinoulton. The villages are all situated to the East of the A46(T) bordering with the vale of Belvoir and the county border of Leicestershire. The A606(T) borders the South of Nevile. There is a primary school at Kinoulton which feeds into a large comprehensive school in Keyworth.
